Inspirational Quotes

  • "To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk." — Thomas Edison (Inventor)
  • "There are no new inventions, only new discoveries." — Stephen Richards (Author)
  • "I never did anything worth doing by accident, nor did any of my inventions come by accident; they came by work." — Plato (Philosopher)
  • "Invention is by its very nature disruptive. If you want to be understood at all times, then don't do anything new." — Jeff Bezos (Founder Amazon.com)
  • "The day science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence." — Nikola Tesla (Inventor)

The Beginning

CERMA is a lubrication technology that was invented by John Murray in 2001. Their collaboration resulted in a revolutionary technology for the lubrication industry. Murray's background in automotive engineering and Saferstein's background in manufacturing were the perfect fit to take their discovery to the next level.

Starting in a garage in Gardena, CA, Murray began the arduous process of testing CERMA and setting up protocols for sale of the product. After six years of real-world and laboratory testing, CERMA was ready for the market.

Company Growth

Dea Shores joined the team, and CERMA opened offices outside Dallas, TX. Starting with the Cerma STM3 Engine Treatment, a one-time treatment for engines, Cerma began selling and innovating.

Product Line Expansion

The line of treatments expanded to include:

  • Transmissions – Automatic, manual, CVT
  • Drive-trains – Differentials, transfer cases
  • 2-cycle engines – Small engines, aircraft
  • Motorcycles – All types and sizes
  • Diesels – Pick-up trucks to semi-trucks
  • Large semi-trucks – Commercial fleet applications

In 2010, Cerma created a grease utilizing its incredible SiC lubrication technology. CERMA STM3 Grease is the best lubrication grease sold anywhere.

The Innovation: Cerma Motor Oil

The SiC Lubrication process for CERMA STM3 Engine Treatments was a simple one-time application, combining the Silicone in the Cerma formula with the Carbon in the engine oil to treat the metal surfaces across the engine.

But because Cerma is a "metal treatment" and does not mix with oil, there was an opportunity to mix Cerma into motor oil and create a new type of oil. An oil that outperformed any standard or synthetic oil but still maintained an affordable price.

The answer was a resounding YES. Cerma was able to create a process by which the active STM3 formula is suspended in motor oil for direct use in engines — Cerma Motor Oil, an oil that will go and go and go and go.... Beyond synthetic protection at a competitive price.

Test Results

In 2005, CERMA was tested at the premier EPA and CARB certified laboratory in Southern California, California Environmental Engineering (CEE). Test results were incredible.

Test Result Improvement
Emissions Reduction 92%
Fuel Economy Improvement More than 4.4%
Testing Standard Stringent CARB protocols
Testing Facility California Environmental Engineering (CEE)
