SiC Lubrication
SiC Lubrication: Revolutionizing Performance and Protection
SiC Lubrication is a groundbreaking technology that chemically creates a permanent Silicon Carbide, or "SiC," coating at a micron level within the valleys of the surface of all metal parts in which the lubrication is introduced. SiC Lubrication is achieved by introducing Silicon into a Carbon atmosphere, resulting in high-performance lubrication. This technology is used in high-performance parts and equipment manufacturers, such as stationary or dynamic turbine components, seals, bearings, process equipment, engine components, and custom coating for professional racing engines.
Cerma is the leader in SiC Lubrication technology, creating all Cerma STM-3 Treatments and Cerma Motor Oils using the same proprietary SiC process.
Benefits of SiC Lubrication:
-
Reduces vibration and friction in engines and equipment
-
Increases power to motorized equipment, resulting in increased RPM or improved energy output efficiency at the same RPM
-
Cooler operation in all engines, transmissions, gearboxes, sliding devices, and bearing assemblies
-
As tested, it yielded a 45ºF average reduction in fluid temperatures
-
Longer equipment life
-
Significantly longer lubrication (oil) service life
-
Protection against carbon and lacquer buildup, allowing for improved piston sealing
-
Increased compression resulting in better fuel burn
-
Produces a hardened, durable sub-surface and does not react with acids, alkalis, or molten salts up to 800°C
-
In air, SiC forms a protective Silicon Oxide Coating and can be used up to 1600°C
-
High thermal conductivity, coupled with low thermal expansion and superior strength
-
Exceptional material with thermal shock-resistant qualities
-
Little or no grain boundary impurities and maintains strength in very high temperatures
SiC Lubrication by Cerma:
Cerma has been at the forefront of SiC lubrication since its inception in 2001 by inventor John Murray. Cerma was the first to utilize the acids and carbon within the engine oil to create a SiC coating across the entire surface of the engine. Cerma STM-3 is a proprietary formulation blended to create a high-performance lubrication for use in cars, trucks, aircraft, marine, HVAC units, and virtually all equipment utilizing metal parts requiring lubrication.
-
Cerma STM-3 Engine Treatments work with both Auto and Diesel applications, and the chemistry works within a number of areas within a vehicle, including the crankcase, the transmission, and the drive train.
-
Cerma Motor Oils work with both Auto and Diesel vehicles utilizing the same SiC chemistry.
-
Cerma STM-3 Grease creates SiC coatings within the operating environment of the equipment being treated. Thus, the equipment operator receives all the benefits of SiC coatings without the high cost.
-
Cerma STM-3 HVAC (Cerma Blue Ice) is added to the Freon and creates a SiC coating along the entire surface inside the coils and removes the moisture by chemically changing the H2O molecules into the coating. The lack of moisture and the hard heat-resistant micron coating provide maximum efficiency to the unit.
