Cerma Blue Ice A/C & Refrigeration Ceramic Treatment — STM-3 Nano Silicon Carbide for All HVAC & Cooling Systems
Cerma Blue Ice is a ceramic compressor treatment that permanently bonds Nano Silicon Carbide (SiC) to the internal metal surfaces of any A/C or refrigeration compressor. It improves efficiency, reduces energy consumption, extends compressor life, and delivers colder air — for automotive, residential, commercial, and industrial systems.
Works with all refrigerant types including R-410A, R-134a, R-22, R-404A, and R-407C. One application. Permanent protection.
✅ What Cerma Blue Ice Does
- Improves A/C efficiency — colder air output from the same system
- Reduces energy consumption — lower electric bills (residential/commercial) and less engine load (automotive)
- Shortens compressor cycle times — system reaches target temperature faster, runs less
- Improves heat transfer — SiC ceramic optimizes metal-to-refrigerant contact surfaces
- Reduces internal moisture and acid buildup — extends refrigerant life and prevents corrosion
- Quieter compressor operation — reduced friction means less noise and vibration
- Revives hard-start units — restores compressors that struggle to start or cycle
- Corrects Saturated Air Dryer Module issues — can eliminate the need for costly dryer replacement
- Extends compressor life — permanent ceramic protection reduces wear on all internal metal parts
❄️ Why Blue Ice is different: Conventional A/C additives are oil-based lubricants that wash through the system. Cerma Blue Ice uses Nano Silicon Carbide to permanently bond a ceramic matrix to the compressor's internal metal surfaces — creating a permanent, self-lubricating coating that reduces friction, heat, and wear at a level no oil additive can achieve.

| Marine | Boat A/C systems, marine refrigeration |
Compatible with all refrigerant types: R-410A, R-134a, R-22, R-404A, R-407C, R-507, and all other common freons.
📋 How to Apply
First-time users: You will need the Cerma Applicator Tool (sold separately) to inject the treatment into your A/C system through the service port. The applicator tool is reusable — purchase once, use for future treatments on any system.
- Connect the applicator tool to your system's low-pressure service port
- Inject the correct dose of Cerma Blue Ice (see dosage guide below)
- Run the system normally — the SiC particles bond to compressor metal surfaces during operation
- Enjoy permanent protection — the ceramic matrix is now part of your compressor
📦 Dosage Guide
| System Type | Dosage |
|---|---|
| Automotive A/C (cars, trucks, SUVs) | 1 oz per system |
| Semi truck A/C | 2 oz per system |
| Residential A/C (up to 5 tons) | 1 oz per ton of cooling capacity |
| Commercial HVAC | 1 oz per ton of cooling capacity |
| Refrigeration systems | 1 oz per ton (small systems may need only 1 oz total) |

🔬 The Science: Nano Silicon Carbide (SiC) in A/C Systems
A/C compressors are high-speed, high-friction machines with tight metal-on-metal tolerances. Silicon Carbide — Mohs hardness 9.5, melting point 2,730°C — creates a permanent ceramic matrix on compressor scrolls, pistons, bearings, and valve plates that:
- Reduces friction coefficient, lowering energy required to compress refrigerant
- Improves heat transfer at metal-to-refrigerant contact surfaces
- Creates a self-lubricating barrier that protects even during compressor startup (when oil coverage is lowest)
- Prevents the microscopic wear that degrades compressor efficiency over time
🛡️ Cerma Blue Ice vs Traditional A/C Additives
| Feature | Cerma Blue Ice | Traditional A/C Additives |
|---|---|---|
| Technology | Nano Silicon Carbide (SiC) | PAG/POE oil supplements |
| How It Works | Bonds ceramic to metal | Circulates in refrigerant |
| Application | ✅ One-time (permanent) | ❌ Needs reapplication |
| Reduces Energy Use | ✅ Yes (measurable) | ⚠️ Minimal |
| Revives Hard-Start Units | ✅ Yes | ❌ No |
| Works on All Refrigerants | ✅ Yes (R-410A, R-134a, R-22, etc.) | ⚠️ Refrigerant-specific |

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need the applicator tool?
For first-time users, yes — the Cerma Applicator Tool is required to inject the treatment through your system's service port. Add it to your cart along with the treatment. The tool is reusable, so you only need to purchase it once. If you already have an applicator from a previous purchase, you just need the treatment refill.
Will it work with R-410A refrigerant?
Yes. Cerma Blue Ice works with all refrigerant types including R-410A, R-134a, R-22, R-404A, R-407C, R-507, and all other common freons. The SiC particles bond to the compressor's metal surfaces, not the refrigerant — so refrigerant type doesn't affect performance.
Can I use this in my car's A/C?
Yes. Cerma Blue Ice works in all automotive A/C systems — cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, and semi trucks. Use 1oz for standard vehicle A/C and 2oz for semi truck systems. The treatment improves cooling efficiency, reduces compressor load on the engine, and extends compressor life.
Will it lower my electric bill?
Yes — for residential and commercial HVAC systems. By reducing compressor friction and improving efficiency, Cerma Blue Ice shortens compressor cycle times and reduces the total energy needed to maintain temperature. The exact savings depend on your system size, age, and usage — but many customers report measurable reductions in cooling costs.
Can it fix a compressor that's hard to start?
In many cases, yes. Cerma Blue Ice has been shown to revive hard-start compressor units by reducing the internal friction that causes the compressor to struggle during startup. It can also correct the need to replace Saturated Air Dryer Modules. However, if your compressor has mechanical failure (seized bearings, broken valves), the treatment cannot repair structural damage.
How much do I need for my home A/C?
Use 1oz per ton of cooling capacity. A typical home A/C system is 2–5 tons, so you'd need 2–5oz. Check your outdoor unit's label for the tonnage rating, or divide the BTU rating by 12,000 (e.g., 36,000 BTU ÷ 12,000 = 3 tons = 3oz). Call 239-344-9861 if you need help.
Is this a one-time treatment?
Yes. The SiC particles permanently bond to the compressor's internal metal surfaces. The ceramic matrix lasts the life of the compressor. No reapplication needed — even if the system is recharged with refrigerant, the ceramic protection stays bonded to the metal.
Will it work on commercial refrigeration (walk-ins, freezers)?
Yes. Cerma Blue Ice works on all refrigeration systems — walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, reach-in units, display cases, ice machines, and cold storage. Use 1oz per ton of refrigeration capacity. For large commercial systems, contact us at 239-344-9861 for dosage guidance and volume pricing.
